Cook pork stew in a sluggish cooker for actually comfortable meat. Add button mushrooms or smoked paprika for more flavour – it'll be an on the spot household favourite
Slow Cooker Beef Stew
2 celery sticks, finely chopped
2 tbsp rapeseed oil
3 carrots, halved and cut into chunks
2 bay leaves
½ pack thyme
2 tbsp tomato purée
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 pork inventory cubes or inventory pots
for braising akin to skirt, purchase a complete piece and cut it your self for larger chunks or purchase ready-diced
2 tsp cornflour (optional)
½ small bunch parsley
buttery mash, to serve (optional)
Fry the onion and celery in 1 tbsp oil over a low warmth till they soar to melt – about 5 mins. Add the carrots, bay and thyme, fry for 2 mins, stir within the purée and Worcestershire sauce, upload 600ml boiling water, stir and tip everything right into a sluggish cooker. Crumble over the inventory cubes or upload the inventory pots and stir, then season with pepper (don’t upload salt because the inventory might be salty).
Clean out the frying pan and fry the meat within the last oil in batches till it's nicely browned, then tip every batch into the sluggish cooker. Cook on low for 8-10 hrs, or on excessive for four hrs.
If you desire to thicken the gravy, blend the corn our with a dash of chilly water to make a paste, then stir in 2 tbsp of the liquid from the sluggish cooker. Tip once more into the sluggish cooker, stir and prepare dinner for yet another 30 mins on high. Stir within the parsley and season once more to taste. Serve with mash, within the event you like.
